Have a funky weekend!

This photo proves my point that chilli is seriously the cure-all in my life.  I reach for chilli when I’m sick and need sinus-clearing, when I’m hungover and in need of some seriously spicy salve…and when puppies escape our backyard.  I’m babysitting C’s gorgeous dog, Spike, but Peach + Spike = serious mischief, as I found out yesterday when I got an amused phone call saying the puppies were on the loose.  I know from hilarious experience that Peach is not a fan of chilli, so, armed with Sriracha and some bricks, I set to the house holing up any possible escape routes and spraying Sriracha for good measure.  I’ll let you all know if they escape again!

I totally love Garance Dore (I mean, who freakin’ doesn’t), so I was seriously stoked to discover that she’s selling her illustrations online!  Posters start from $40.00, and art prints, which are limited edition, numbered and signed, are $400.00 so there’s something for every budget.  Garance’s illustrations have that French chic aura down pat –  I would love to put some of these up in our study or living room for some parisienne flair.

All of a sudden, the temperatures have skyrocketed from pleasantly mild to a sweltering simmer!  It’s wonderful though, it means summer’s finally here!  I would dearly love some time to sit by a pool or even go to the beach, but unfortunately that’s not going to happen in the near future.

Whew, it’s Friday!  It’s been a whirlwind week, but it’s finally here.  Unfortunately (or fortunately!) it’s going to be a whirlwind weekend too, but more on that on Monday when we reach the otherside.  I’ll be kicking off the weekend with a girl’s night out at Alfred & Constance (where I also went last weekend…looks like it might be a regular haunt for us!).

Have a flamboyant weekend!

What are you up to this weekend?  The weather’s been a bit dreary of late, so if this carries on through the weekend, I’m looking forward to baking, cooking soups and reading good books.  I’m really excited to be going to the Brisbane Good Food and Wine Show – I went two years ago with my parents and had the most unexpectedly good time, so this time I’m going with my boy and a cooler bag – I’ll be the one demanding wine and cheese.

Pinterest – and a Gift Guide!

Have you guys discovered Pinterest yet?  I must have been living under a rock, but this website is awesome – it’s an online virtual pinboard!  Seriously cool.

Obviously, I’ve been pinning non-stop since I’ve discovered it, and it’s so much fun.  You can check out all my boards here.  I may or may not be a pinning addict.

I’m also really excited about Christmas – I’m one of those people who love looking for gifts and I really try to put a lot of thought into gifts, so finding the perfect gift makes me really happy.  Whenever I’m trawling online, I always think, “oh, that would be the perfect present for so and so” but when it comes to said person’s birthday, or Christmas time, I can never remember where it came from.

But that will happen no longer with Pinterest!  I’ve started up a board for gifts which will help me SO much, and will hopefully help you as well, with the upcoming holiday shopping.  Best to get in early!  So I’ll be pinning anything and everything that I think will make perfect gifts for all those special people in your life.  The gifts will be in all price ranges and I’ll be trying to cover all the bases, from Dads to puppies to stocking stuffers, so there’ll be something for everybody.
